Charity Heartstart presented a life-saving defibrillator to Scouts and Guides in John Street Hall in Helensburgh.
Sheenah Nelson, Helensburgh and Garelochside Rotary’s HeartStart coordinator, joined the Scouts and Guides group at the hall last week alongside Gary Mulvaney, managing director at Helensburgh Toyota – who paid for the lifesaving equipment costing £1500.
The local Brownies and Scouts group also presented Sheenah with a cheque for £500, which will be donated to HeartStart.
The charity has seen 1600 people trained in the use of defibrillators and also helped save the lives of seven people locally.
Sheenah said: “It’s all down to members of the public that we now have so many people being trained in how to save someone’s life. It’s local money saving local people and I think that is fantastic.”
